Word of the Week: Super good

Well, “super good” is two words.  Mark Rodriguez wrote that God is “super good”. At the GCC women’s retreat the women learned about the remarkable life of Mark Rodriguez, a 17-year-old disciple of Jesus who was killed on May 30, 2014 in an apparently random act of violence.  I mentioned him in my sermon on James 1:1-4:12 as we considered James’ counsel to “count it all joy” when we have suffered in various ways.  You can learn more about Mark’s extraordinary life here, or listen to Leigh Ellen Rodriquez talking about her experiences as a mom in this moment.

Thankfully, most of our suffering falls mercifully short of the Rodriguez family.  We learn from and appreciate their witness and example of “counting it all joy.”
