One of our goals here at GCC is to raise youth to know and love Jesus for a lifetime. I have the privilege of being called to play a small part of that raising up! This is something we will continue to strive to do here at GCC with the way we teach, love and disciple our youth.

One of the main things that we want our students to know is that The Word of God has to be the foundation of your walk. I know when I was a student I often glossed over the importance of applying the Bible. I often saw it as a book of rules and never understood how important God’s word is. “How can a man keep his way pure?” (Psalm 119:9­-10). Through understanding and applying the Word to his everyday life, not just when it is convenient.

We want to instruct and stress the importance of whole-hearted obedience and awe-filled reverence for God and his Word to the next generation. I believe that the most important part of any ministry is understanding how important and how alive the Word of God is. I also believe one of the main reasons we do youth ministry is because our youth are the future. If we can help them to fully know and love God, the impact they can have is beyond our imagination. More souls will know that Jesus is King, and isn’t that the goal for all of us? I want our youth to be so in love with Jesus that when they interact in their community, people will look at them and say, “I want what they have.” None of this happens without the power and help of the Holy Spirit and his strength.

Would you join me in praying that our youth will fall more and more in love with Jesus every day? Would you pray with me that Jesus becomes our youth’s soul desire and purpose for everything they do? I believe the Lord has big things for the next generation and I am just blessed to be a part of it.
