Word of the Week: Peace to you
This time of year we always say “Merry Christmas.” I’ve learned my Irish friends say “Happy Christmas.” I’ve come to realize that Christmas is a very hard time of the year for many people. It’s a season that many remember and realize their loss of a loved one quite keenly. It’s a season where our disappointment and loss in terms of family relationships is keenly felt.Perhaps we are alienated from family, or going through a divorce. Some of you are headed to be with family, and hoping to come out without much additional damage.
So, I say, peace to you. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you now. He can speak peace to our innermost being when there is struggle and turmoil. So, Merry Christmas, and peace to you
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (Jn. 14:27 ESV)
In Him,
