Word of the Week

Word of the Week: Deluge

I wonder how Noah felt? What an unusual season in our country’s history! Two incredible storms hit within a few weeks of one another! A 1000-year flood hits large portions of Texas, and a massive hurricane swamps many parts of Florida after leveling parts of the Caribbean.  What are we to do? Can you help in some way? With so many needs financially, pray and consider how to help. A personal connection may be wise. If you’ve been to an island that has been hurt, donate to Samaritan’s Purse or a similar organization on the ground. If you have love for a particular city that has been hit, find a way to help either through MNA disaster relief (and you can specify a US hurricane site) or another good organization. A friend of mine is raising money for a neighbor who lost their home without flood insurance and they are in their 70’s. You can use the link I just gave you to volunteer to help in Texas or Florida.

It’s confusing and overwhelming. My advice is to help where you can and where you have a heart connection. Pray for the many, many organizations that are already on site. Last, here is some good news about faith based hurricane relief.

In Him,

Don
