Word of the Week

Word of the week: Together

As I write this word of the week it seems that the powerful hurricane Florence is going to hit SC and turn into Charleston. Earlier this week we were seeing a forecast of 20 inches of rain in Central VA. Given the sogginess we have now, I can only imagine the damage.

We did some things on Facebook to connect us together. We started a GCC storm group. Because if this happens our mission is to be the body of Christ to one another. Chain saw teams to members with trees down, groups of GCC volunteers helping your neighbors, and making sure that no one faces the storm alone. I’m thankful that we may be out of the woods. But we mustn’t forget we are in this together.

You know, that’s what discipleship through relationship is all about. We don’t try to figure out life alone. We need each other. We can help and encourage one another. Why not plug into the men’s or women’s retreat and make a few friends? Why not see when small groups are meeting and check it out? Why don’t you stay for Foundations this week and reconnect with a few people? Don’t go through the storm alone. Don’t go through any of the storms of life alone.

In Him,

Don Ward
