Word of the Week: Provision

We prayed for two of our own on Sunday as they went off to be ambassadors for the kingdom, as they go and carry the message of reconciliation to far away lands. One of the things that has been so amazing to me about these trips is how God has provided above and beyond what we could have expected. In both cases, God provided more funding than necessary.

Yesterday Pastor Don left for Malawi. Did you know most pastors in Malawi don’t have a Bible in their native language? Can you imagine leading a Bible study or a Sunday service without one? Well not only did God provide enough money to send Pastor Don to train pastors; he also provided money to buy 238 Bibles for the pastors who are attending the training. God provided!

This Friday Fleming Straughan is flying to Ireland to the Dublin Prayer Conference. God has graciously provided here too! God provided $550 beyond what Fleming needed to go, so we were able to send that money to support the continued work of the Irish Bible Institute in strengthening and equipping the Irish church. God provided!

Again and again God provides. Our Lord isn’t stingy. He knows what we need and he is willing to give it – in fact, he’s eager too. Our gracious Father is eager to provide for his children.
