Word of the Week

Word of the week: Moving day(s).

There are a lot of moving days happening soon at Grace. Assistant Pastor Tag Tuck moves 100% into the Pantops Church plant on June 1. We will see him around some this summer as he has two preaching chances at GCC, but he won’t be function in his adult ministry role any longer. On September 1, he will transfer completely over to being an employee of the Presbytery of the Blue Ridge. Great adventures ahead for sure! He will be assessing the progress of things along the way, but perhaps the first worship service of the new church will be in early 2018.

Tom Breeden is moving from the role of Pastoral Intern to Assistant Pastor. He starts work full time June 1, and will be officially ordained as a pastor on June 11th during the 10:30 service (only one service after Memorial Day through Labor Day). He’s already been working part time and doing some preliminary ramp up on the care and feeding of small groups. He’s also been thinking about adult Foundations courses for next fall and thinking about how to make those courses of maximum effect in our goal of making lifelong disciples. Tom recently moved into a new apartment just up the street from the church, and will move into Tag’s office June 1.

Sean and Gabby Smith are moving from being single people to married people this coming weekend, and shortly thereafter begin their trek from Chicagoland to Charlottesville. Sean will take the helm of our youth ministry in early June. He and Gabby are already planning to go to Rush in July.

The biggest move of all:  God is on the move in all of this! I’m excited to see how He puts his hand on all of these moves!

Blessing on you all,

Don
