Questions - that is the word of the week. I had the privilege of spending time with the middle school Foundations class on Sunday, and I gave them a chance to ask me some BIG questions - the stuff they hear their friends talk about, or in other cases, their own deep questions about things. Not surprisingly several were about Christian sexual ethics versus the modern view of sexuality. Several were about good and evil in the world and how God can still be good. Some were specific bible stumper questions.
Questions reveal a lot. They tell us what we are worried about (Will I have enough to retire? Will I ever find a mate?) and reveal some of our assumptions. Questions like “Why did God make people bad and then punish sin?” assumes some things. Those things need to be examined.
What are your big questions, fair reader? What perplexing matters about God and life rattle around in your head? I’m curious. Email them to me at dward@cvillegrace.org . I’m not promising to have all the answers, but I want to hear what the questions are!
In Him,
Don
