Word of the Week

Word of the Week:  Faithfulness

One of our values as a church is faithfulness. We value and honor commitment to the long haul with one another and our church. We want to model and encourage that. To me that is rooted in the faithfulness of God. When life gets stormy I personally begin to run to God’s faithfulness. I look for scriptures that preach and teach the faithfulness of God. I think about them, ponder them, and ask God to calm my heart with their life and truth. God is faithful and long suffering. That’s a great reason to seek to become a faithful person as well. Here is one of those passages that I run to when I need to comfort myself in God’s love and faithfulness:

My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me.

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."

(Lam. 3:20-24 ESV)

If you read Lamentations, you realize they were suffering the consequences of their rebellion against God. This verse is for the prophet himself- even when all is falling apart, he runs to God’s faithfulness

Have a great week.  See you Sunday, God willing!
