Summer Reading

Don here with some recommendations for summer reading.  With no claim to being great at such recommendations, here are a few suggestions.

Stuff for your Soul or Life:

Desiring God by John Piper.  It’s a classic. It should be required reading.

The Way of the Heart by Henri Nouwen. Because of how most of us think, this is a good counterbalance to our over rational and over busy lifestyle

The Meaning of Marriage by Tim and Kathy Keller.  If you are married, or ever want to be, Keller is full of good practical and biblical wisdom. You can check this one out of our church library, if you are interested.

Moving On by Ruth Ann Batstone. A frequent topic of conversation I have with people is about forgiving those from whom they have received deep wounds. Ruth Ann is a friend of mine and she has great wisdom to give. This is also available in our church library.

Other Books:

Gettysburg: The Last Invasion by Allen Guelzo. I’m finishing this excellent volume on one of the most important battles in American history. It was nearly a disaster for the Union. This book goes into all the details!

The Whistler by John Grisham. I finished it not long ago - a fun beach read, and he is from Charlottesville after all.

Rocket Men by Robert Kurson. This is the inside scoop on the Apollo 8 mission. Some good resources for additional reading at the end.

Fun Beach Authors: David Rosenfelt, Daniel Silva, Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben

Wear a hat and use your sunscreen! Drive Carefully and come back soon!
