A Word from Our Pastor

Word of the week:  Thanks!

Hi Gracians!  I’m really sorry to have missed everybody on Sunday.  I think many of you heard Caron and I were headed up to see her mother.  She has been diagnosed with dementia, which was made much worse by an infection.  She is recovering from that and improving in her capabilities.  There will be some tensions and stresses in the weeks ahead as Caron’s family discerns the best level of care for Caron’s mom.  As far as we know, our dear Phyllis will be with us for some time to come, but conversations won’t be as clear and lucid as in past seasons.  Caron and I were blessed to be together Monday to witness a day that was nearly normal.  We brought my mother in law’s lifelong friend to visit and it was just like old times!  That was an answer to prayer.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and expressions of concern.  It has been wonderful to be reminded that we are the body of Christ- here to love one another.  Caron and I have been blessed to receive prayers and loving concern from many of you.  We appreciate it and feel privileged to be living out this Christian life with you.  You reminded us that you love us very much!  Thanks!

Hope to see you Sunday or at Wednesday’s Christmas Eve Service.  In any case, Merry Christmas!
