Word of the Week: Home Run!
I write to you with a full heart after our Missions Emphasis Weekend. I was so encouraged at the Missions Breakfast to hear the calling of so many people to reach our world for Christ. They were young and old, and had very varied approaches to the task.
Then on Sunday in Foundations, we learned more of the value of ministry to our International guests, particularly university students. Our new friend Echo shared with us the costs of following Jesus from her culture, and her joy in sharing her faith with other international guests.
Then the Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus simulcast far surpassed my expectations. Nabeel Qureshi is a dynamic proponent of our faith who came to Christ from Islam. You can find some of his talks on iTunes, and his book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus is readily available online.
Thanks to Fleming Straughan, Wes Loffert and the rest of the missions team for their efforts. Thanks to Susan Nelson and her team for great food on Saturday. Thanks to Tag Tuck for making the arrangements for the simulcast, and for bringing it to our attention.
In Him,
Don
