This past Sunday at GCC was another memorable one, with so many families back from summer vacations and travels, with the recognition of Carol Hill’s eight years of service as Children’s Ministry Director (and the transition to Cara Kidd’s leadership of children’s ministry), and Fall Charge Up to help us connect to community and plug in to serve. Any Sunday that ends with cake and refreshments has a good ending, right?
We are carrying over the Fall Charge Up opportunities to this coming Sunday as well! Let me highlight two opportunities. First, the nursery ministry: Susan Blandford is our director, and you can contact her at nursery@cvillegrace.org. She is in great need of volunteers for this vital ministry. This important ministry gives parents of our younger children an opportunity for worship, and gives our youngest members a loving and kind introduction to church and Christian community. If you haven’t plugged in to serve, consider emailing Susan and signing up today!
Secondly, another important ministry is Children’s Church. This gives children age 3 through 1st grade the gospel messages in a relevant way. They only miss the sermon, but still receive Christian teaching at their level. Cara Kidd would like to add to the ages we serve, so that our second and third graders would have this opportunity. This is a strategic opportunity to serve the younger children in our church. This will help them grow in their faith and prepare them to engage the adult worship time as they get older. There are many other service and small group connections, including new ministry teams geared toward serving our visitors and newcomers well. I hope you can plug in and charge up this fall!
